If that little charging device is in charge mode all the time it will eat your lunch when it comes to better gas mileage. And it does do that when that particular type of water converter is in use.

These new types are not so hungry for power as the older model. For a truth, I have not used nor experimented with these newer prototypes. The principle seems solid to me. And the cost is not prohibitive for a do-it-your-selfer to give it a go. I plan to give it a shot as soon as I find the time to get after it.

I am sure the big oil companies would like to keep a lot of things under wraps that would otherwise give us better gas mileage and them less profits.

It makes little sense for cars of today cruising along at about 25 mpg and cars from over 60 years ago, that weighed in at 3 times as much as today's getting the same mileage.

I know engineers could easily develop engines to run at a hundred mpg. I would bet they already have.

A quick story from over 30 years ago.

A Wyoming cowboy called into a radio broadcast one day when they were talking about high gas prices. Yes, we had a shortage then. Gas running about 75 cents a gallon. He said he had converted his 71 Chevy ¾ ton pickup with a 350 engine to get over 40 mpg. I had the same pickup and got 18 mpg if I drove with a measure of good sense.
