This is 2008, the twenty-first century. Big Government is watching over aspect of our lives, from cradle to grave. He claims to be monitoring business concerns in what is manufactured and where the remains are being deposited.

There are no more Love Canals, right?   We should be safe from being poisoned by our own countrymen, no?
 
Do you ever watch those TV commercials for all of those  medicines? If you do, don't you almost laugh yourself silly at all the side affects that can be suffered? Most of them are worse than what is suffered from in the first place.

Have you ever seen any mention of side affects from using an insect repellent? Neither have I.

Side Bar. If you are like I am, we hate seeing our children attacked by insects even more. There is nothing so frustrating as seeing our children eaten alive and not being able to do anything to give them relief. 

Thus, we go for the bug juice. Anything that will give us relief ! Our first thoughts turn to  chemicals as a defensive measure for simple survival. I don't know about you, but I have never considered what I was really doing to my body.

But, sometimes those chemicals can be harmful to us.  A wise parent will do some research into the facts before subjecting themselves to something that could be injurious to our health.

The skin is the body's largest organ. It will absorb things almost instantly and then your poor liver gets to clean it out. What a load of toxins we put upon the liver and do not even know it.

When DEET is applied to the skin it is immediately absorbed into the body's bloodstream. Once toxins are in the body it is hard to get out. Portions of DEET can be stored in the body for years or longer. Frequent use of DEET can cause a toxic build up that can be damaging to the brain.

Each year numerous children age 6 or under are reported to suffer from brain damage. Brain damage caused by over use of insect repellents that contain DEET. Toxic affects of DEET can be brain , , .

It is not wise to expose children to this toxin DEET. However if you must go toxic rather than natural, make certain that you do not use DEET in concentrations above 10 percent volume. Protect your children's health. Keep them safe so they can and will grow up to healthy and happy grownups.

It is obvious that  will not protect us. We must use do diligence to protect ourselves. The bottom line is, the risks are not worth the convenience of the spray can.
