I do not know if I would call it fuel saving device or no. I will say I get better gas mileage because of it. It does cost a penny though. At $50+ a quart it is not something a body should be careless with. It is much like a fine wine. To be enjoyed, not dropped.
In fact I saw an auction ob Ebay the other day for ER. They were selling 5 gallon for about $500. Cheap at twice the price. Well, almost.
ER fills in the microscopic pores of the friction points of the engine, causing less friction during operation.
You might think oil is slick. You should try a little experiment. Hold a screw driver dipped in oil. Then dip the screw driver, a new one, in ER then into oil. See if you don't see a difference in the slip quality.
I discovered this little trick about 20 years ago. A friend introduced me to it. He had been using ER for some years before with amazing results. We test ER on various machines and ways. I was/am purely amazed how much longer parts would operate without freezing up.
I lived in Sacramento California. I made occasional trips to Reno, over the mountain. A pretty good climb for any vehicle. My car was a 1993 Oldsmobile Tornado, with a six banger. A small engine for a car of that size. It would average about 23 mpg.
My usual experience of going to Reno was for the car to pull down to about 30 mph at points. It would run the same way both going and coming over the mountain and for fair stretches.
On the day of my discovery, I was going to a convention in Reno and I would be carrying 5 passengers. That equals six, times 150 pounds average or 900 lbs instead of the usual 150 pounds.
I did the usual maintenance before we left. Except on this occasion I added 8 ounces of ER to the engine and 8 ounces to the transmission.
I did not notice any difference in the way the car ran for the first 20 miles. We were on a slight incline and starting to pull down, not unusual. Then, as if someone had kicked in the afterburners speed immediately picked up to 75 mph and we were able to hold that speed all the way over the mountain to Reno.
To my amazement and absolute pleasure we came home the same way. I believe the Reno side of the mountain is even steeper than the California side, being a shorter distance to the top.
I was able to improve my gas mileage to 28-32 mpg from that day until the old car gave up the ghost about 200,000 miles later, when the tranny got tired and died. The old car had about 260.000 miles.
I have tried to use and apply ER to every vehicle I have used since then if I could/can find it. It has proven to be a super gas saver and mechanic in a can. It may not create cheap gas, but it does make for better gas mileage which is about the same thing.
I have proved to myself that his product delivers what it promises through not only this use but the testing Doug and I put it through. Many highly renowned race car drivers attest to its miraculous power.
I will tell you about his experience. Carson City Nevada is right at the base of the mountain. Doug was driving his little car, forget what it was, but it did have a manual transmission. Usually his little car would shake and shimmy and growl terribly on his return from Carson City.
On that day he could hear the radio better than normal and without turning it up. He discovered that he had been running in high gear with no strain. Usually he had to run in 3rd and could hardly hear him self think.
He treated the transmission and the engine and all of the wheel bearings and rear end with ER. The ER had reduced the friction so much he was almost gliding on a cloud and he got much better gas mileage then ever before.
I have no first hand knowledge exactly except reports from folks with first hand knowledge. I have been told by more than a couple of users of ER that this metal treatment (ER is not an oil treatment) has saved their engines because of oil loss.
Given my experiments with ER I believe them. This is one gas saving device that I have proven to myself to work and highly recommend it to anyone. In fact I would recommend it if it did not give better gas mileage at all. It is that important to any engine for a long trouble free life.
It does work folks.
